The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is a widely recognized English language proficiency test designed for non-native English speakers who wish to study, work, or migrate to English-speaking countries. It assesses four key language skills: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking.
IELTS Academic:
For students applying to higher education or professional registration in an English-speaking environment.
IELTS General Training:
For those seeking work experience, training programs, or migration to English-speaking countries like Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the UK.
Scoring: IELTS scores range from 0 to 9 bands. Each section of the test (Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking) is scored individually, and the overall band score is the average of these four sections.
(30 minutes): 4 sections with 40 questions in total.
(60 minutes): 3 sections with 40 questions in total.
(60 minutes): 2 tasks - Task 1 (report writing for Academic or letter writing for General Training) and Task 2 (essay writing).
(11-14 minutes): A face-to-face interview divided into three parts - introduction and interview, long turn, and discussion.
Numerous resources are available for IELTS preparation, including official practice tests, online courses, books, and coaching centers. Proper preparation is essential as the test is challenging and the scores are crucial for university admissions and visa applications.
Validity:
IELTS scores are typically valid for two years from the date of the test.
Taking the IELTS test is a key step for many students and professionals aiming to advance their careers or academic goals in English-speaking environments.
The exam consists of four sections: Listening (30 minutes), Reading (60 minutes), Writing (60 minutes), and Speaking (11-14 minutes). The Listening and Speaking tests are the same for both Academic and General Training, but the Reading and Writing tests differ.
IELTS is scored on a 9-band scale, with each section (Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking) receiving a score between 0 to 9. The overall band score is an average of the four sections.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, you must do so at least five weeks before the test date to receive a partial refund. Cancellations or rescheduling within five weeks of the test may result in a fee, depending on the test center's policy.
